New Media Effects on Hong Kong Society

The Hong Kong society has gone through many changes. Many of the recent generations remember government rule under the British from 1841 to 1997. Once Hong Kong was handed back over to the People's Republic of China on July 1, 1997, there was still a rule of One Country, Two System. This would mean Hong Kong's previous capitalist system and its way of life would not change for a period of 50 years. With new changes, things won't be the same for long.

New media will play a huge role in this change, showing both positives and negatives to their daily life and in the political unrest of the country.
